If you’re like many of my friends, you love getting fresh flowers, but rarely get them for yourself. As someone who loves buying fresh flowers for herself, I want to share with you why you should too with 3 reasons fresh flowers rule.
Fresh Flowers Look and Smell Great
Duh, right? But nothing brightens up a space more easily than a beautiful bouquet of fresh flowers. It not only adds color and a wonderful scent to your space, but it adds a vibrancy as well.
Fresh Flowers Elevate Your Mood
They’re an easy, thoughtful way to bring the outside in, which does wonders for our mind, body and spirit. Like the sun, it helps melt away negativity, and replaces it with a glow of positivity and energy.
The brighter the colors the more they elevate our mood. The softer the colors the more they bring us to a relaxed state. Regardless of which colors you pick, they always manage to take the edge off of difficult situations. This explains why it’s common place to send flowers when someone is sick or going through hard times. There’s just something about surrounding ourselves with living things that makes us feel alive and energized.
Fresh Flowers Make You Productive
Productive? Yes! And it makes total sense given the mood elevation benefits outlined above. I don’t know about you but when I feel tired, stressed, or anxious about something, it not only manifests itself in my mood, but in how I tackle life. I tend to be unorganized, less focused and easily distracted. However, when I decide to treat myself to some fresh flowers and all the benefits they bring, I not only begin to feel my mood become more relaxed and open, but I tend to feel more put together, organized, focused and creative. I tend to take on all my adulting responsibilities head on as I start tackling all the things on my to do list.
That’s the thing about doing things for yourself. When you do one thing, you begin chipping away at any disconnects in your mind, body, spirit connection. You begin quieting that demanding mind and allow a space for stillness and appreciation of the present moment. The senses then show us the way to enjoy that which is before us, as we begin to let go of any burdens or stress. Yes, flowers can help with all that.
