Back to School savings? Yes please! I don’t know about you, but back to school shopping can cause your bank account to take a beating. Thanks to the #WalgreensPaperless feature from their easy to use Walgreens app however, we were able to “clip” coupons and easily add the paperless coupons to my balance rewards account for some super quick and easy savings.
If you hadn’t heard, you can download the Walgreens app onto your mobile device, sync it with your balance rewards membership and “clip” the manufacturer coupons to not only make your check out convenient, but to easily add to the points and savings on your balance rewards account. You no longer have to carry around your card, nor those odd shaped slips of paper, to show to the clerk for savings. Everything is available from the app and the best part is that once you’ve used the coupon, it’s deleted from your coupon list. Pretty neat huh?
So once my sister mentioned she was having some trouble finding some of the items on the kids list, I told her to bring me the list so that we could go through it together and see what the Walgreens app could offer.
Low and behold, Walgreens had almost everything on the list and I was able to “clip” coupons and make a shopping list that we could use as we headed to our neighborhood Walgreens.
My sister kept the supply list in her hand, while I reviewed the list of “clipped” coupons to make sure we matched the needed items. We found everything from backpacks, to everything needed to fill the backpacks. It was great that everything was easily located on or near their back to school aisle.
Once I double checked our lists, we headed to the register where I had the cashier scan my balance rewards barcode from the app, and off we were toward savings because the coupons I “clipped” were automatically applied to our purchase. It was quick and easy, which I totes loved!
We all walked away happy. The kids were set for the first day of school and I saved a whopping $39.25, 43% off the total purchase, and earned 1,000 rewards points. 🙂
Once I saw what a huge savings we made off with and the smiles on the kids’ faces, I knew what I had to do next. I needed to match the savings and come back to grab a few extras to donate because nothing beats the joy kids have, in the anticipation of what’s to come, than when they pack up their new school supplies for the first day of school.
So as you do your back to school shopping, consider picking up a few things to donate. Education is what will change the world and you never know where a thought put on paper may lead. 😀
