I Completed Run or Dye San Antonio 2014!

Disclaimer: I received free admission to this event, however all opinions of the fun had are strictly my own.

Woop, woop I am so proud of myself!  I actually completed the Run or Dye San Antonio 2014 5k in about 40 mins., with a combo of running and walking.  😀  Did I mention I’m not a runner?  While that doesn’t compare to those who finished ahead of the pack, I was surprisingly impressed by my feat.  😉

If you don’t know, Run or Dye is a color-blasted 5K, where you get showered in safe, eco-friendly, plant-based cornstarch dye every kilometer (keep your mouth closed though 😉 ).

They’re known as the 5k for everyone, whether you’re a recovering couch potato or an avid marathon runner, because you’re not looked at crazy if you decide to walk, run, dance, or skip your way to the finish line.  As you know I try to exercise at least 4 times a week, but long distance walking/running is not my thing.  Don’t tell anyone I said this, but I just can’t get into being on a treadmill for that long.  I do however take part in a total body conditioning class, kickboxing, Zumba, and yoga, which keeps me healthy enough to finish this 5k without much prep. 😉

Run or Dye is also renowned for being family-friendly — kids 6 and under participate for FREE and do not require registration! It was great seeing families getting out there and getting healthy together.

It was also fun seeing everyone enjoy the world-famous Dye Festival afterward, where everyone got chance to Tie-Dye the Sky, and each other, in this ultimate celebration of fitness and fun.

As soon as I posted my success to social media, several of my friends and family congratulated me and asked when my next run was.  Have I mentioned I don’t like running?  Yes, well I still hold fast to that belief, but I do like having fun outdoors, so if the weather stays as pretty as it was yesterday and another fun run comes my way, who knows.  Never say never right? 😉

What outdoor fitness fun is coming up for you?
