Day 1 – Finding Your Flow – Finding Security (Oprah & Deepak’s 21-Day Meditation Experience™)

Finding Your Flow-yoursassyself.com.jpgHave I mentioned how I believe that everything in life happens for a reason?  Well I do and here’s yet another reason why.  When the actual Oprah & Deepak’s 21-day Meditation ExperienceFinding Your Flow took place last month, I was too caught up dealing with life, that I chose to not follow along as the meditations launched day after day.  That’s the thing about letting yourself get caught up, you fail to live in the moment and tune into the ways you are being sent help without even realizing it.  Now that I find myself trying to process my recent breakup, I’ve found myself seeking healing and remembered that I was smart enough to have saved the 21-day meditation experience.

As I reviewed day 1 I realized that while I have several great tools at my disposal to deal with a lot of my emotional baggage and that of those that I meet on the daily, I’ve been struggling in finding peace when it comes to the prospects of an unknown future for my love life.  Enter the Finding Your Flow experience, where the flow is defined as – “…the universal rhythm within that is the infinite source of joy, balance, harmony, and love…(where) our core sense of security (serves) as the stable basis for all the growth to come.”

Questioning where I was on my security had never crossed my mind, but now that I’ve been enlightened that security is at the core of all growth, I am much better equipped to realize that “My security and peace are within,” not in any future relationship that may or may not be waiting for me.  But what is the security we need to find?  According to Stephen Covey – “Security represents your sense of worth, your identity, your emotional anchorage, your self-esteem, your basic personal strength or lack of it.”

As a result of my recent breakup, my security was shaken to its core and I have allowed my sense of worth and self-esteem to be tied to it, which is what has depleted my personal strength and dislodged my emotional anchor.  Instead of letting go of what happened in my breakup, I’ve been allowing it to affect me and take me down the rabbit hole of self doubt about my looks, my weight, my age, etc., which does nothing but leave me wallowing in despair, which is so not a healthy place to be.

Thankfully however, I am now back in awareness of what is truly going on, what I need to concentrate on and what I need to let go of.  I need to go back to what I know.  I am love and when I detract from it (like when I live in the past and choose to wallow in despair), love is lost.  In order to live love, I need to let all the love that surrounds me in, live in the moment and leave the past behind.  😀 #loveurself

It’s amazing how much clarity can come your way when you’re open to receive it and this is just day one people.  I can’t wait to see what other wonderful gems of enlightenment come my way.  That’s the thing about choosing to be a successful human being, you have to be willing to continuously learn and grow from every situation, which this chica is all about. 😉

How is your security doing these days?
