To say that 2015 is the year of change for me is an understatement. Ok, ok, it really started last year with a ton of soul searching, but this year it’s more about transforming the external me to match the happy, bubbly internal me. One of the easiest ways I thought to do that was by trying something different with my hair. So when I was invited to try eSalon, a professional hair color at home, I jumped at the chance!
For those new to eSalon like I was, it’s inspired by the idea that beautiful, quality hair color can be accessible without the uncertainties of retail products and the excessive expense of salons. To that end, when you place your order you’re asked to answer questions which take into account your natural hair color, amount of gray hair, previous color applications, hair texture and condition, desired color, and other variables, so your master colorists can create a custom formulated hair color that you could never get off the shelf. There are literally thousands of color possibilities available, and eSalon colorists takes pride in crafting the best custom hair color formula with high-quality ingredients for rich, long-lasting color and superior gray coverage.
And when they say custom, they mean custom. I placed my order and then received an email from my colorist asking more clarifying questions to make sure my hair color was done right. Then when I received my hair color I was happily surprised it contained two bottles of color (one for the roots and one for the ends) that had my name on them, an applicator brush, stain guard and stain remover, 2 pairs of latex gloves, shampoo and conditioner,
along with personalized Instructions for an easy at-home application.
The instructions even come with a phone number where you can call them to answer any questions. They also offer a 100% satisfaction guarantee. If for any reason you don’t love your results they’ll either send you a new adjusted formula or refund your money.
With such customization and personalization you’d think you might be spending as much as a professional dye job, but I’m happy to report that’s just not the case. In fact, you can try them for just $10, a 50% savings! Tre cool no?
Thanks to all their customized care and application instructions, I can totally see how this isn’t your ordinary drug store hair color and I love my new hair! Especially since it totally has color variations in it like normal undyed hair and feels super soft to the touch. Win, win.
What do you love most about getting professional hair color at home?

You look beautiful! ! I want to start coloring my hair in the near future and I’ve read great reviews about esalon. It’s great that I can get the “ok” from someone who has actually used it and recommends it. And the price is awesome! !
Your Hair color looks great ! 😉
Thanks chica and how cool that you were already thinking of using them & helped you make up your mind. 😉 Love the serendipity of it all & glad I could help. Can’t wait to see how your hair turns out 😀
Rocio, what color did you select? I tried them also and selected “Light Brown Golden Copper but was not satisfied with my results. Would you use it again?
Hey Tracy, I asked for light brown with red overtones and am super happy with it. I like that it didn’t drastically change my color, but just added a nice red tone. I wasn’t quite ready to commit to a drastic color change. You should tell them you weren’t 100% satisfied and see if they can create a better mix for you. I would definitely try them again.
