Did you know that hot sauce is one of the top 10 condiments used in the US? Well it is and this Mexican-American chica is very particular about the ones she allows into her kitchen and on her habanero recipes. Enter the El Yucateco Habanero Hot Sauce flavors – Red Habanero Sauce, Green Habanero Sauce and the Black Label Reserve. Yes, they’re habanero based, but don’t let that scare you. Each one offers just the right amount of heat for any of your favorite meals.
First let me tell you that all three sauces have a clean, smoky, fresh habanero taste that adds a full flavor through out your meal, which is exactly what I look for in any finishing sauce. It also offers the heat normally associated with habaneros, but it’s definitely not overpowering to the point that you can’t savor the meal you’ve added it to. Here a little dab goes a long way.
Once I tasted the Red Habanero Sauce I knew that it’s flavor and heat would be perfect on all kinds of snacks – chicharrones (pork rinds), papitas (chips) & even hummus. Yes, hummus. 🙂 I usually add a little heat via a healthy sprinkling of cayenne pepper; however when I made my last batch I was out of cayenne pepper so I threw on some of the Red Habanero Sauce and it was perfection. 🙂
Once I tasted the Green Habanero Sauce I knew that it would pair wonderfully with my lighter proteins – fish, chicken and eggs. So when I cooked me up some migas (eggs with bits of fried corn tortillas), I totally added several dabs of this great, smoky sauce and it did not disappoint. 🙂
For the Black Label Reserve, their newest flavor release & exclusively available at Walmart, I knew that its fullness was meant to go flavorfully with my more hardy meals, like my fav, carne asada (BBQ). What better way to put it to the test, than by adding it to one of my most favorite cuts – fajitas. Yum, yum – It too was a great match. 🙂
So as you can see, no matter what recipe you’re cooking up, El Yucateco has a habanero hot sauce to meet your needs. But don’t take my word for it. Check out what others are saying about them on the El Yucateco Facebook page or pick some up for yourself at your neighborhood Walmart.
If you happen to find the XXXtra Hot Kutbil-ik Sauce during your trip, add it to your cart because it too packs just the right habanero hot sauce punch. 😉
Then join us at the bilingual #SauceOn Twitter Party where we’ĺl be sharing more ideas for turning boring meals into something special with El Yucateco Sauces! Oh yeah and did I mention, there will also be $550 in Walmart gift cards! Pretty cool huh? So RSVP here!!
