If you’re like me and love making things from scratch, it can sometimes feel like we’re cheating when we turn to Hamburger Helper® to help us with our meals. Don’t. Although Hamburger Helper® already comes with prep instructions, there’s nothing that says we can’t personalize our meals to make them feel more like us.
That’s why I wanted to share my hearty three cheese meal, which includes finely chopped onions, mushrooms and broccoli florets. Trust me, topped with cheesy goodness, even the kids will like it. ![]()
Here’s what you’ll need:
Ingredients
1 lb ground beef
1 cup hot water
2 cups milk
1 box Hamburger Helper® Three Cheese
2 cups frozen broccoli florets, finely chopped
2 tbsp of onion, finely chopped
a handful of baby bella mushrooms, finely chopped
a drizzle of olive oil
Directions
Heat non-stick skillet over medium heat, drizzle in olive oil, and sauté onions and mushrooms until golden brown. Add in the 1lb of ground beef and cook over medium-high, stirring occasionally, until thoroughly cooked.
Drain the fat and you’re ready to add in the hot water, milk, uncooked pasta and sauce mix (from Hamburger Helper® box), along with the finely chopped broccoli.
Heat to boiling, stirring occasionally, then reduce heat, and allow it to simmer.
Once sauce thickens, it’s ready to serve. Yum, yum ![]()
And voila, just like that you were able to give yourself a break from full meal prep, by allowing Hamburger Helper® to take the lead, while adding your own personal touch.
