Thanks SCOTTS MIRACLE-GRO – Express Yourself! campaign for sponsoring this post and for the MIRACLE-GRO Gro-ables kits. All views and opinions are strictly my own.
What can I say, April showers have definitely brought May flowers and have me saying – Hello summer yard.
Isn’t she pretty? And it’s just at the beginning. Here’s what I started with – over grown flower beds
and weed patches, bare patches everywhere.
Thanks to Roundup Ready-To-Use Weed & Grass Killer III, MIRACLE-GRO Shake and Feed and Scotts Turf Builder Bonus S Southern Weed & Feed however now my yard and everything in it is ready to continue it’s transition from Spring to Summer and I’m one happy lady.
As are my furbabies since not only do they have soft, green grass to roll around in, but thanks to ORTHO Bug B Gon I’m able to keep the fleas and ticks at bay so I don’t have to worry about how much time they spend outdoors enjoying the day.
More blooms are also tops with the kids because they get to explore all the wonderful insects that come out to play as a result.
Even the scary ones.
The best part about a good looking summer yard is that it’s inviting to your entire family – from your furbabies to family and friends. Plus it sets a wonderful backdrop for all your outdoor events. From BBQs, to outdoor games, to even gardening. Which by the way, check out the fruits of our MIRACLE-GRO Gro-ables Veggies and Herbs which the kids and I planted in MIRACLE-GRO Potting Mix. We actually have sprouts!
The kids were so excited to see that something they planted is actually growing. I’m all about great conversation starters and ways to get kids outdoors, so thanks SCOTTS for helping get my yard in check just in time for summer!

Working on it now actually but I haven’t done much in about a week – so much rain! Planting some bushes in the front yard- 8 small ones so it’s been a lot of work. Doing a little at a time. Jusy focused on the end result!
Yup Liz, I feel ya. Cleaning out my flower beds was a lot of work, but so well worth it. 😀 The things we do for our homes. 😉 Hopefully you’ll share some pics when you’re done. Have a great week!
Your yard looks great! Taking care of a lawn and flower beds can be frustrating, but it is so rewarding once you finish it! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks and so true Brian, nothing better than a nice landscaped yard.
I also have pets and at one point I worried about ticks and fleas in my yard. To get rid of ticks and fleas I have my yard treated with a surface insect controller every month. Now I don’t mind my dogs being out in the yard. Thanks for sharing.
Happy you dropped by and your furbabies are enjoying the great outdoors.
