If you follow along on social media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter), you know that I recently had some holiday fun at the JW Illumination, which runs from now through December 31st, at the JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort & Spa. This family friendly event showcases an outdoor wonderland with over 250,000 lights choreographed to glorious holiday sounds and so much more.
I was excited to share the experience with my parents, sister, niece and nephew and it did not disappoint. As soon as we arrived, we were all struck by the grandeur of the hotel and how beautifully decorated it was for the holiday season. The kids were excited to have been greeted by friendly elves ready to talk and take their pics with the kids.
Then we were treated to an unlimited supply of Starbucks hot chocolate and provided a breakdown of what the amazing Hill Country Holiday Experience consisted of. If you visit now through December 31st, you and the kids can participate in a Gingerbread Craft Workshop, Storytime with the Elves, Kid’s Night Out, Breakfast with Santa and Mrs. Claus and so much more.
If that’s not enough, year round they also have the Range Riders Kids’ Club which is a full service recreation program which is offered to guests 4-12 yrs old. During our visit the kids were provided Little Passport goodies which kept them busy over the Thanksgiving break. It was fabulous!
The JW also has an amazing River Bluff Water Experience – a six acre water park;

the wonderfully relaxing Lantana Spa ready with a special treat just for you;

along with the High Velocity sports bar – perfect for the sport lovers in your family.

Needless to say, the JW rolls out the red carpet for all its guests, making sure that their home away from home is truly magical and our night out was no different.
Not only were the kids mesmerized by the twinkling lights and sounds of the JW Illumination, but they were awestruck by the amount of time they got to spend chatting with Santa and Mrs. Claus.
Overall it was a wonderful night spent surrounded by good people and great fun! If you happen to be heading to San Antonio, live here or are looking for a wonderful new destination, I highly recommend you make the JW a part of your next adventure!
Which of the fabulous spots mentioned above would you like to visit?
Disclosure: I was not compensated for this post but I was invited to attend the JW Illumination and receive Little Passport goodies for the kids. However, my love for the everything shared here is my own.

It was fabulous Brenda – haber cuando te das un tiempo para visitar el JW – you won’t be disappointed. 😀 Saludos!
My girls, husband and I loved the JW Marriott. My husband loved the live music and I loved –and the kids loved Santa and Mrs Claus. They were fabulous.
The music was pretty good, but having the kids spend more than just a few minutes chatting with Santa and Mrs. Claus was priceless. They were still talking about it days later. Talk about memories made. Happy you and your family agree Aimee. ;D
I would love to take a pic with an elf! Super fun!
Ha, it was pretty fun Lisa and I know they would love to take a pic with you too. 😉
This looks like a lot of fun! It’s a resort/hotel I’ve always wanted to stay at because of that amazing water park. I’ll have to make sure to go next summer. 🙂
It is pretty impressive Monica, hope you get to make it out soon. Maybe we’ll run into each other over the summer. 😉
