It’s official, I’m going to have to sideline myself from my normal exercise routine due to an elbow injury. A little over a month ago I bumped my elbow hard while packing for my trip to Ojo Caliente and have since bumped it another 6 times or so (silly I know).
Initially it was just a little painful whenever I lifted weights or held planks during my exercise routines, but lately it’s been hurting to even lift a remote or brush my hair…no bueno. So I took a week off from exercising to see if that would help, but it has not, so I broke down and went to the doctor. After a couple of x-rays and a visit to an orthopedic specialist, I have been told that I need to rest my elbow and have been given a cortizone shot. 🙁 I’m bummed because I love to lift weights, do yoga and my ab class, but it’s amazing how much you use your elbow through out these work outs and really everything in life.
For now, I’m going to have to take time off from most of my exercise classes and concentrate on doing more cardio and really being aware of what I eat. Cardio is not my favorite because I also have bad knees (getting old is so not fun sometimes), but I’m sure my body and mind could benefit from the exercise shift and true awareness. 😉
Do you have any elbow friendly exercise routines you can recommend? What’s your favorite form of cardio?

ouch!! I hope it heals quickly. It’s so frustrating when an injury forces us to rest. ::Hugs::
Thanks friend! It’s slowly starting to feel better 😉
