Awe Spring, how I love thee, let me count the ways. Not only do you bring warmth back into my life, but you also bring beautiful blooms and longer days. True to form, you’ve also brought a ton of showers, which is what has caused the weeds to get completely out of control and my flower beds to bloom beyond capacity. All I can say is thank goodness for weed and feed.
I love my outdoor spaces and am so happy to have luscious green grass and blooming flower beds. The issue I have is that it can sometimes feels overwhelming trying to get it ready for all the BBQ fun to come. Weeding alone, after all this rain, is just too much for this chica to tackle one by one. That’s why at the beginning of Spring I head to Walmart to get all the products I need to get my lawn back in order and my flower beds blooming.
My lawn care comes down to: mowing; applying SCOTTS Turf Builder Southern Weed and Feed to get my grass green, healthy and weed free; and then applying ORTHO Bug B Gon to keep the fleas and ticks in check and my furbabies scratch free.
I then use Roundup Ready-To-Use Weed & Grass Killer III to help me tackle weeds and get my flower beds manageable and ready to grow to their fullest potential. It’s at this point that lawn and gardening becomes fun again because now I can actually tend to my plants using MIRACLE-GRO Shake and Feed to help support my already established plants through the Spring awakening, onto beautiful blooms.
This is also the part where I tend to get the kids involved and outdoors. This year I was able to get them excited to help by letting them know that we were going to try our hand at growing our own Veggies and Herbs with the help of MIRACLE-GRO Gro-ables kit we received in the mail. Needless to say they were super excited to help. So out we went, planted the packs in MIRACLE-GRO Potting Mix, watered, and placed them in direct sunlight.
And so begins our outdoor fun this season.

My weeds are starting to pop us too! Time for the weed killer to make an appearance.
Yes Elayne, I hear ya! Happing weeding 😀
Honestly I have no idea what we use on the lawn. Between my Babe and the Home Owners Association our grass is green. Its pretty and he waters it a lot. lol I’m allergic to trees, weeds and grass so I don’t get involved at all.
Ha, that’s perfection Michellette – one day I hope to be just like you. Until then I gotta weed and feed my stuff to keep it looking good. 😉 Thanks for dropping in. Have a great day!
Round Up is a great product. I used to use it when I lived down south. I haven’t gotten any here and here our yard is much bigger, so I really need to get with it. 😉
I feel ya Rosey – Round up gets me through the weeds like no other. Good luck with your weeding. Have a great one! Thanks for dropping by.
