Disclosure: Urban Taco covered my tab. However all views and opinions are strictly my own.
If you didn’t know, Urban Taco is the new hot spot in the Quarry area. It offers a menu inspired by Mexico City street food and the coastal cuisine flair of Acapulco. With summer knocking on our door, doesn’t that and the fact that they have an outdoor patio area sound enticing? Well, recently I and a group of my fellow San Antonio Bloggers were invited to try their cuisine on a hopping Thursday night. Here’s a snapshot of how our night went.
I started the night with a house margarita on the rocks, which on Thursdays is only $1. I was shockingly surprised that it had a kick. For a $1 I was expecting to get a watered down drink, but surprisingly I received quite the opposite. 🙂
Next, my fellow bloggers and I shared the salsa trio. There are 13 different salsas to choose from. Our trio came with the jalapeño avocado, black bean and roasted corn and the roja. My favorite was definitely the black bean and roasted corn salsa. It was different than any salsa I had before and it was delicious.
For my entrée I ordered the 3-taco combination plate. Here again I had 12 fillings to choose from. I chose the arrachera steak, the chicken al carbon and the carnitas DF. The arrachera steak was delicious and totally my favorite.
I love that they let you mix and match salsa, tacos, etc. with each order. It’s like you’re own little sampler so that you can try them all and then know which your favs are so that you can order them on your next visit. 😉
Needless to say it was another fab night with my equally fabulous San Antonio bloggers.

I’m jealous I couldn’t make it! I’m pretty impressed by $1 margs and 12 options of salsa and taco fillings. Looks like I’ll be checking out urban taco soon!
Awe, would have been great to see you there, but definitely check them out for yourselves when you get a chance 😉
