Getting fit and healthy is all about making healthy choices. While I know we’re the only ones that can work toward making wellness a part of our daily lives, I’m happy to know that Walgreens wants to play a part to motivate you a little more with Balance Rewards.
With the healthy choices feature, you not only earn Balance Reward points for tracking your health, but you can earn points on thousands of items, including prescriptions and immunizations. Basically anything you purchase from Walgreens or log onto the app, can result in points which you can redeem for dollars off future purchases. I don’t know about you, but I love any organization that rewards you with savings every time you get moving toward a healthier you. Talk about motivating. 😉
With that in mind I knew it was time put my Walgreens app through a work out and head over to get a new pedometer, along with other healthy aids, because with the discounted prices through the Walgreens app and free Balance Rewards program, I know it’s difficult to walk out with only one thing. Once I replenished my healthy stash, I was ready to head out to get fit and healthy in my city.
If you’ve been following along you know that exercise and I are attached at the hip. I love it and miss it when I’m not active at least 3-5 times a week. I normally try to get in those sessions at the gym, through the various offerings the San Antonio Parks and Rec offers with Fitness in the Park (click link to access a calendar of events and locations of fitness equipment stations, etc.) and on weekend hikes with my fur babies and family.
It’s been great getting out in San Antonio and exploring all the cool, free fit centric parks and activities that are available to us. It’s great to be surrounded by such wonderful green spaces and getting to be one with nature.
It’s also nice that you can sync your FitBits and apps like MyFitnessPal to the Walgreens app to track your progress and earn Balance Rewards points while doing it. I’ve been averaging about 100 points a day when I reach my goals, which adds up.
I’m already thinking of how I’m going to use my rewards toward a special treat. Not a food treat like I’m used to getting for myself, but something on the health track like a massager or foot soaker – something to soothe my body after a great work out. 🙂 Pretty neat huh?
But don’t take my word for it, download the app for yourself and sign up for the free Balance Rewards program so you too can track your progress and earn points on all purchases to get you closer toward your very own treat!

Where is that park with the fitness equipment? LOVE IT!
If i haven’t done anything to get my exercise in for the day and we head to the park, I use the kids’ park to get a workout in!
Totally Sara! That’s actually on the NE side of town…it’s called John James Park, but I know there are a few others spread out around SA.
That’s so awesome that San Antonio parks are putting the health of the community first! What a great addition to add fitness equipment! I wish Austin parks would do that! #client
Yes, we are super lucky to be in a city where fitness is at the forefront. Thanks for stopping by Kelly!
